Are you fully licensed and what rules do you have to comply with?
Yes - we are licensed and we have to comply with some very strict rules.

How and where do I meet the driver at the airport?

How will the driver know what time to get to the airport / dock?
All incoming flights and ferries are monitored for arrival times via the BAA official website referred to in our office. We will despatch your driver to arrive at the airport / ferry terminal at about the same time as your flight lands.

How long will the driver wait for me after the arrival time?
Up to 60 minutes after your flight lands. After 60 minutes, we will make enquires about you if you are unable to be located or contacted.

What if I am unable to meet my driver at the arrivals gate?
Sometimes weather/traffic problems can delay a driver. In some instances, it may be the case that the car parks are full and we are unable to secure parking. Please note that, with all of our booking confirmations, you note the Astex-Tester office telephone number, should instances like this occur.

Can you provide child (safety) seats if required?
Yes - we will supply them upon request. Alternatively, you may wish to use your own if preferred. If you do opt to use your own child / booster seat(s), we will keep them secure until your return journey.

What are your office opening hours and availability time?
Our office is open Monday to Saturday (9am-6pm) – however, any calls made to the office during alternative hours will be redirected to a Duty Manager who will deal with your request / query promptly and efficiently.

How long will a particular journey take?
Of course, this will depend on where you are going and what time of day it is. As a rule of thumb, we will take into account journey times during peak hours and schedule your pick-up time accordingly to ensure that you arrive at your destination on time.

Can I smoke in the car?
Astex-Tester's company policy strictly prohibits smoking in any of our cars.

Will I have to wear a seat belt in the car?
By law – and for safety reasons - both front and rear seat belts are compulsory here in the UK. If you do not wear one you could be fined for failing to do so by the police.

You offer a service with very competitive rates. Does this mean the rates in question apply to each passenger?
No! The price you pay is per CAR for you and your party only.

Are there any hidden costs?
No! The only time you will incur extra costs is if you exceed the allocated 60 minutes waiting time or you misrepresent your destination / number of passengers / amount of luggage.

Do you have the proper insurance for passengers?
UK law requires that we carry at least Third Party Hire and Reward Insurance (Private Hire). Rest assured that all of our cars carry this as a minimum.

What are the check in times at the airports for departures?
Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports quote a 3 hour minimum check in time for international flights and 1.5 hours for all domestic flights.
